The very first Spanish automaker was born to produce Fiat cars under license. It quickly grew especially in its home country, but that partnership ended in the 1980s. SEAT quickly went to the VW group afterwards and became its sporty, yet affordable, branch. However, the recent prosperity of Cupra, its upscale brand, is raising eyebrows.
